Tuskegee Airmen were a group of African American Military Pilots and airmen who fought in WWII. They trained for aerial combat.

Paul Robeson was an acclaimed bass baritone concert artist, stage and film actor, and civil rights activist who became famous for the production of “Othello” and “the Emperor Jones”. 

In 1948 Alice Coachman Davis won the High Jump at the Olympics in London, England. She became the first African American woman to win the Olympic Gold Metal.
